UAE is all set to make the nation run on 100 percent clean and green energy by establishing new strategies and working on alliances for the development of renewable energy sources. a rising population and growing economy have been the key factors driving the increase in peak power demand which grew by an average of 8.3 percent per year between 2007 and 2017. The growth in demand for power mostly comes from a range of industrial and business sector activities and increased exports to the smaller Northern Emirates. With this, the need to optimize the system demand and rationalize consumption has become a priority.
UAE has already planned its vision to go clean in energy generation with its` first nuclear power plant to go live in the near future. The nation also has a huge potential for Solar power which is being considered and new projects are being planned to put this to reality.
