A Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates to the International Renewable Energy Agency, IRENA, Dr. Nawal Al Hosany stated that the part played by the UAE in the renewable energy industry has established it as a role model to look behind, with it landing investments worth a total of US$12 billion for 49 renewable energy ventures throughout 25 nations delivering nearly 4GW of energy supplies to the people.
She observed that the approaching IRENA General Assembly which will occur in January of next year alongside the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. The United Arab Emirates will partake in the yearly meeting and will inform partaking nations about the present and upcoming ventures, according to Nawal Al Hosany during a conversation with the Emirates News Agency.
She stated that when talking about renewable energy, the UAE has become a role model to follow the footsteps of. This is because of the substantial efforts to drive sustainable development throughout the globe and safeguard nature’s resources and our environment.
She stated that ever since the founding of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company in 2006, the UAE has given utmost importance to the utilization of renewable energy solutions.
She also said that the United Arab Emirates will signify its motivations to back IRENA’s hardwork and promote cooperation during the IRENA General Assembly meeting.
She noted chief renewable energy ventures such as the “London Array,” the “Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm,” etc.
