SGR S.p. A. is the Italian private equity company that manages the Fondo Italiano per le infrastructure and the Secondo Fondo Italiano per le Infrastrutture which specializes in the infrastructure sector investment.
SGR S.p. A. (F2i) has agreed to buy Renovalia, a Spanish renews power company, as an investment firm for Italian infrastructure. In a press release, F2i announced that it would expand its renewable energy portfolio to 1 GW of power generation and that 800 MW would be installed in the course of additional projects. The financial conditions of the transaction have not been disclosed.
The independent infrastructure fund manager before the purchase had an installed capacity of approximately 853 MW, all in Italy. The change also offers F21’s EF Solare a path into the Spanish PV market. “Renovalia is the country’s fourth[ largest] photovoltaic power plant operator and is well-positioned to take part in a new investment process,” said the Fund.
In Puertollano, south of Spain, Renovalia is the construction of a 79 MW solar commercial project. Renovalia plans to develop on a commercial basis in Spain as the first part of a portfolio of over 1 GW of solar and wind power. Six countries have the company: Spain, Mexico, Chile, Hungary, Italy, and Canada. More than 805 MW of renewables–11 solar parks and 17 wind farms–are owned and maintained.
