The United States is heading towards world domination of the energy sector, but to achieve that it has to make huge changes to its fossil-based energy sector. The government is working relentlessly towards its vision.
The United States has seen the dawn of renewable energy as climate concerns are rising. The government is taking major steps to establish renewable sources of energy. Many projects have been green flagged by the United States but are still in their developmental stages. Although the use of residential renewable energy has risen in the second quarter of 2019 more than ever, this does not prove that the government is giving 100 percent. The general awareness of climate change has the consumers worried and thus they are moving towards cleaner alternatives. The government though planning projects to aid this, is yet to announce policies for the private sector to take more interest in this clean approach. The energy consortium Omega Energy USA is planning a biorefinery in Louisiana to turn waste biomass from sugar cane operations into ethanol. If the project is completed, it will be the first commercial-scale cellulosic ethanol facility to open in the US since DuPont started up a corn waste plant in 2015.
These kinds of projects show that though late the government is taking some steps in the clean and green direction. Although much more is expected from such a huge economy because more efforts are seen from smaller economies such as Sweden and Scotland. The USA needs to work more on its energy goals.
