As per the foreign minister of Italy, which is the country in the continent of Europe that is closest to Libya from across the Mediterranean, a cease-fire in the state of Libya is a condition for the call of a political dialogue.
Among the rising tensions in the East Mediterranean because of the activities involving the hydrocarbon exploration and also the Libya issue, this Saturday while talking about the matters Luigi Di Maio told the Anadolu Agency of the Italy’s policies on this regard and he also expressed his views on the developments in the Mediterranean region.
Di Maio, while talking about the hydrocarbon exploration activities taking place in the Eastern Mediterranean stated that these activities will bring new possibilities for Mediterranean’s energy security, especially for the EU and Italy.
Di Maio also said that there is much need of the spirit of cooperation between the states in order to make the energy resources in the region help in the development and also the growth of all the countries of the Mediterranean region.
Di Maio, being a supporter of peace and harmony while expressing his views about the matter at the Berlin talks, also stressed that they must solve the issue with Libya and to bring peace to the region.
At the Berlin talks, he also added during his speech that the only option they have in order to be able to end the hostilities is to work together.
While talking about the matter he added that the term Power is closely related to the term balance, and in context of this he also said that it is highly important that we put in all the effort that is required of us towards the supporting of the Berlin conference.
