The government declared to build a renewable energy facilitation center to deliver information related to the policies and programs for the industry as well as investors on timely basis.
The center has been constructed at the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and will be headed by Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Joint Secretary of the ministry. He is an IRAS officer of 1997 batch.
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy said that the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy built a Renewable Energy Industry and Investors’ Facilitation Centre which would work as a point of focus to deliver correct and timely information on policies and programs of the government. Along with that it would also solve the problems of the renewable energy investors and industry in the country. R K Singh, Renewable Energy Minister said that the government is dedicated to increase the share to 40 per cent of the country’s total power generation capacity by 2030.
The center would play a vital role to accomplish this target as it would work as a fast track mechanism in solving the investors’ problems. He also said that at present 86 GW RE capacity has been mounted in India and another 34 GW is under operation.
